Purple Rain

A weekend of pouring rain is great for sitting with a podcast and sewing buttons onto a dress, much like this one!

The author stands in front of a wall of greenery, photographed from the neck down. She wears a purple midi-length dress with black laced boots. The fabric is purple with little red, blue, and white flowers all over.

This is Rosery Apparel’s Daisy dress, which I’ve made before, but not in a sleeved view.

The author stands on front of a wall of greenery, wearing the same purple dress. She has her hands in the side-seam pockets of the dress. It is V-necked, and buttons all the way down the centre front. The sleeves are short and puffed.

Intially I wasn’t sure about these sleeves, but I quite like them! I used elastic in casings instead of shirring, which feels more comfortable on my arm.

Close-up of the puffed sleeves. They're gathered at the armseye and a little above the hem, making the hem lightly frilled.

I also raised the neckline a little.

The author holds out the skirt of the purple dress, still in front of the greenery wall.

The author has one arm raised, tucking her har behind her ear out of shot, with the purple dress in front of the wall of greenery.

I don’t have a purple dress in my wardrobe, so I’m excited to wear this out and about. It’s still raining (as it was when I took these photos), so I might need a jacket over the top.

Anyways, see ya!
