Op-Shop Upcycle #2

Managed to finish my second upcycled shirt this weekend! This is the before….

A black button-down, collared shirt hangs on a coathanger against a white background. The black is broken up by little white lines all over the shirt as a pattern.

….and after.

The author wears the black shirt with the white specks with dark green pants against a pale blue background. She's photographed from neck to thighs, and has her hands in her pockets.

This shirt is made from lighter fabric than the first one, handy for the warmer winter days.

The author wears the black shirt with dark green pants against a pale blue background. Her hands are at waist height, one hand tugging the cuff of the other sleeve up. Again, she's photographed from neck to thighs.

Same as last time, I removed the collar, sewed the front plackets shut, and shortened the sleeves.

Close-up of the centre front of the black shirt. The button plackets have been sewn shut, up to the second buttonhole from the top. The pattern is also more visible; it almost looks like there are small white sprinkles on the shirt.

I also made the cuffs shorter, so they fit my wrists better. That’s why one of the corners hasn’t got the nice angle at the top.

Close-up of one of the cuffs of the shirt. The side with the button is square, and the side with the buttonhole has a 45 degree angle at the top corner.

Of course, as I type this the weather outside is as hot as midsummer. I’ll finish the other two shirts so that the project is complete for next winter; that will also give me time to plan some (more) spring and summer projects. Here I come skirts!

Anyways, see ya!
