Gingham Skirt (Dark Version)

The temperature gauge is at 32C (89F)…. going outside blinds those without sunglasses…. it’s officially skirt weather.

The author stands in front of a blue wall, photographed from waist to feet. She wears a brown and white gathered gingham skirt with a pale purple top and black boots. She has her hands behind her back.

And here’s one I finished last week!

The author stands in front of a blue wall, photographed from waist to feet. She wears the same brown, gathered skirt with purple top and boots. She holds the skirt out with one hand to show the print, which is white gingham stripes on a brown background.

This is my second self-drafted skirt (my first one is here), using the same pattern with the fabulous elastic-at-the-back waistband.

Close-up of the waistband of the brown skirt. It is photographed at the side seam, so the flat front of the waistband and the gathered back can both be seen.

The fabric is a very lightweight cotton, which I found online at a store called Potter & Co.

The author stands in front of a blue wall, wearing the brown skirt. Photographed from waist to feet, she has both hands in the skirt's side seam pockets.

It does, of course, have pockets; they are in the same fabric as the skirt.

The author leans against the blue wall, wearing the brown skirt. One foot is flat against the wall, and her hand on that side has hitched the skirt up slightly. She's photographed facing the camera, from waist to feet.

I thought this lightweight cotton would be good for the sweltering weather, and brown seems to go with everything. I am thinking of making a couple of pairs of brown pants in the future, so we shall see. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to wearing this skirt often!

Anyways, see ya!
