Dresses for Autumn

I have another dress to add to my wardrobe, just in time for the weather to turn cold!

The author stands against a pale blue wall, photographed from neck to ankles. She wears a dark pink, high-collared, elastic-waisted midi dress with black boots. Her hands are tucked behind her back.

This is my tried-and-true Florence dress by Sew Over It, the third one I’ve made.

I found these buttons in my stash; I think they’re real shell buttons, because they’re uneven thicknesses, and not perfectly flat.

Close-up of the bodice of the dress. The fabric has horizontal zigzags filled with curly shapes, and in-between zigzags are rose vines. The buttons on the bodice are pearlescent, and the collar is a high Nehru collar, with curved corners.

This fabric is delightful; it’s very lightweight and flowy, and extremely soft against the skin.

(This is not the best swish to show that off, I know!)

It’s not one of my homemade garments if it doesn’t have enormous pockets at this point!

I love the long sleeves of this pattern – they’re perfect for covering the skin in summer, and I can also layer these dresses in winter with leggings and a jacket. I also don’t have a lot of this dark pink/red in my wardrobe, so I’m looking forward to wearing it!

Anyways, see ya!
