V&A Shirt the Second

I sewed the buttons (and buttonholes) onto my second V&A shirt yesterday! It was a very cosy atmosphere, with all the rain we’ve been having recently.

The author stands in front of some white lattice, with a vine growing through it. She's photographed from neck to hips, and is wearing a pale pink long-sleeved shirt with navy pants. She ahs her hands in front of her, and she's doing up the buttons on the cuffs of the sleeves. Her shirt is tucked into her pants.

This shirt will actually replace a fast fashion pale pink linen shirt I’ve been wearing for years now.

The author stands in front of a white lattice with a vine growing through it. She's photographed from neck to hips, and is wearing the same pale pink shirt and navy pants. Her back is to the camera, so the back of the shirt is visible. The shirt has a subtle box pleat at the centre of the yoke, and is tucked into the pants.

I love how subtle and sleek the inverted box pleat looks on the back.

The author stands in front of a white lattice with a vine growing up it. She's photographed from neck to hips, and is at a slight angle to the camera. Her pale pink shirt is untucked from her navy pants, and the hem is folded up where the author's hand is in her pocket.

For this shirt, I made the hem about 3cm longer, because I found the first V&A shirt was coming untucked when I wore it in the wild (aka at work). I haven’t worn this shirt in the wild yet, so I will report back whether this worked!

Close-up of the author wearing the pale pink shirt. The centre front button placket extends about halfway down the torso, and finishes in a triangular shape. There is no collar attached to the collar stand, and there are four shell buttons on the button stand.

These beautiful shell buttons came from One Hook Two Needles, and they’re on the cuffs as well.

Close-up of the inside of the pale pink shirt, specifically the collar area. It is folded open to reveal the small hanging loop, attached to the inside yoke of the shirt.

The hanging loop looks much neater in this shirt as well! (Probably because I remembered to attach it before attaching the yokes to the back, but anyways.)

The author stands in front of a white lattice with a vine growing up it. She's wearing the pale pink long-sleeved shirt tucked into navy pants, and is photographed from neck to thighs. One sleeve is rolled up to just below the elbow, and the other is being rolled up.

This linen is from The Fabric Store (who I’ve mentioned here before plenty of times), and it’s just so nice and soft. I have a third V&A shirt cut out already, so be prepared for loads more of these to come!

Anyways, see ya!
