Lewt the Mouseling Adventurer

One of the Dungeons and Dragons podcasts I listen to is called Girls Who Don’t DND; I may have mentioned it on here before. They had a fundraiser about a year ago for a plushie of one of the characters from their first campaign, Lewt, who is played by the Game Master’s son. [link to Lewt’s plushie counterpart here]

I, unfortunately, did not manage to snag a plushie, but….

A crocheted mouse character, Lewt, sits on the author's outstretched hand, with a hedge in the background. The mouse is mid-brown, with pink hands, feet, and inner ears. He is wearing a dark brown shirt, and a blue-purple cloak around his neck. He holds a short staff with a large gold ring at the top.

….I did crochet myself one!

Back view of Lewt, against a white brick background. His cloak is most of what's visible, and is partially slit at centre back. The backs of his ears are completely brown.

I heavily referenced the original plushie when designing him, with a couple of compromises for using-up-scrap-yarn reasons.

Front view of Lewt without his cloak, against a white brick background. He still has the dark brown shirt on, and his staff with him. The shirt has a silver codpiece attached to the centre bottom of the front. His face is embroidered in dark brown and dark pink yarn. Lewt's expression is smiling, and he has pink cheeks.

I also made all of his clothes removable, which I don’t think is true of the plushie.

Lewt sits in a tree, perched on the remains of a cut-off branch. He leans back against the trunk of the tree. He is wearing his cloak, but doesn't have the staff.

His staff is not attached to his person, because I couldn’t figure out a way of doing that that I liked.

Lewt sits on a rock with his staff, facing the camera. Around the rock is foliage of various shapes and sizes.

He is an adventurous sort of mouse, so I did show him the sights of my backyard….

Lewt sits on the author's bookshelf, leaning against the spines of the books. He has cloak and staff, and faces the camera. The books behind him are a small selection of the author's fantasy novels.

….and my bookshelf.

While I was making him, I did also write down the pattern as I went. So, if there is enough interest, I would be willing to clean said pattern up and release it here for your hooking pleasure. He is devastatingly cute, in my opinion, and a great addition to your shelves. (And the podcast is a great addition to your usual listening habits!)

Anyways, see ya!
