Tailoring in Pink

I finished another waistcoat recently!

The author stands in front of a purple bougainvillea bush, photographed from neck to thighs. She wears a dusky pink collared waistcoat with a navy shirt and dark grey pants. She has one hand in her pant pocket, and the other hanging beside her.

The idea for this one largely came from the buttons; they came off an old cardigan of my nanna’s, and I thought putting them on a pink waistcoat would be a great idea.

The waistcoat is lined in this pretty pink floral cotton. I like the turquoise accents in the design!

I am particularly pleased with the collar, as this time I have finally got it looking nice.

I reinforced the roll line by sewing cotton tape underneath the roll line, so the collar knows where to fold. Combined with the stiffer fabric, this is my best collar yet.

Now I want to make the other two collars on my waistcoats sit this nicely, but that’s a lot of unpicking and reconstructing. Maybe in the next few years or so.

Anyways, see ya!
