Project Roundup

I’m getting really ambitious with Sarah’s desk chair – I want it to look fancy. (Well, as fancy as possible.)

The seat of a chair is photographed against a white brick background. The chair back is red-brown lattice, with solid trim around the top edge. The seat is covered with blue fabric. The bottom lattice edge is in the process of being glued underneath the seat, so there are tabs splayed out around the edge of the seat.

I am also in the process of making another life-sized pair of pants, this time in heavy black linen.

The guts of a black sewing project are laid out on a wood surface, photographed from above with a dish of sewing notions beside it. The 'guts' entail a zipper, several raw edges, and the interfacing of the waistband being visible. (No actual innards.)

At the moment, I have just put the invisible zip in, and I’m in the process of finishing the edges along this zip seam.

A closer-up photo of the pinned-down raw edges of the black sewing project. The end of the zip is visible, and between that and the pinned-down edges are a few edges still raw. In the top right is a blue pin tin, resting on the black fabric.

I have also had the opportunity to experiment with a little 3D printing recently.

Two miniature teapots sit on the shelf of Sarah's new desk. The one on the left is white with pale blue spots painted on. It is clearly made of rolled paper, in that it is not perfectly spherical. The one on the right is smaller, also white, and looks a lot cleaner.

I think I’ll use it mostly for things that are difficult to make in the right shape with rolled paper. A lot of these things will be kitchen things, like cutlery and teapots. This teapot was a tester one, and I’m keen to see what sort of plates and cups I can get.

Anyways, see ya!
