Project Roundup

Sarah’s new bed is coming along nicely; the frame is complete, and I’ve made a mattress.

Interior of Sarah's bedroom, facing the corner where the bed is. Said bed is now dark brown, with four slim legs, a tall headboard, and a calico matress. Beside the bed is the bookcase, and there is a grey and blue rug on the floor.

It pretty much just needs bedding now, which I haven’t got around to stitching together yet. I’m thinking about a change from the stripes, maybe something starry?

Sarah sits on the new bed, hands resting flat on the matress. She faces the camera, smiling in her khaki jacket, grey shirt, and navy pants. Resting against the headboard are a couple of cushions, and at the foot is Sarah's blue crochet blanket. Chip the android is inspecting the foot of the bed.

I’ve also been cutting out hexagons from fabrics in the fabric stash – there are about 40 here.

Three piles of fabric hexagons are laid out flat on a wood surface. The hexagons are all patterned in a variety of different patterns.

I’m going to use these to make a patchwork cushion cover, which as you can see, may take a little while!

20 fabric hexagons are arranged on a wood surface in a circular fashion. Some of the patterns are more visible, in shades of pink, green, blue, and purple. There are stripes, florals, nautical prints, spots, and batik-dyed fabrics.

I have also started making my second self-drafted shirt, in this dusky pink linen.

The neckline and sleeve of an unfinished linen shirt is laid flat on a wood surface. The shoulder seam has pins in it, and just above the seam is a thread spool, scissors, and pins.

The rest of these shirts will be in similarly pale colours, as the forthcoming summer looks set to be hot and lighter colours reflect heat away from the body (at least I’m desperately hoping).

Anyways, see ya!
