Project Roundup

These little candle holders I added to Sarah’s room this week were really quick to make – only a couple of hours all up.

Close-up of Sarah's hands as she stands near her desk in her room. She is holding an unlit candle on a small black metal plate with a mug-like handle. Her desk, blurred in the background, is covered in open books, pencils, and crystals.

I glued the candles into them after I drybrushed them with gold paint.

Close-up of the candle-holders, of which there are three. They are black plates with curved mug-esque handles attached, dry-brushed with gold paint to imitate metal. They do not have candles attached. They are on a white brick background.

I reckon the drybrushing looks really effective!

Close-up of Sarah's desk, where a candle in its holder is on the shelf above, unlit. Sarah's hands can be seen resting on the desk's surface and on an open book. Also on the desk are papers weighed down eith crystals, and an open notebook with pencils in.

I reckon Sarah will put the other two on her bedside table, when I get around to making one.

Close-up of two shelves on Sarah's bookshelf. The bottom visible shelf only houses the other two candles in their holders. All three candles are of differing heights. The shelf above has books, a silver horse statue, and a camera on.

The majority of this week was dedicated to assembling the front of the patchwork cushion cover I started last month.

A large patchwork rectangle of fabric is laid out on a wood background. The patchwork is made of hexagons in a variety of different patterned fabrics. Shades of purple, blue, green, and pink are in floral, polka-dotted, leafy, and abstract patterns. Above the patchwork are two piles of similar hexagons, the template used for the hexagons, and a blue travel sewing kit, buttoned up.

I just need one more half-hexagon at the top! I’m hoping I’ll have a spare half-hexagon left over once I assemble the back panels that I can slot in there. Then it’ll be time to assemble!

Anyways, see ya!
