Project Roundup

My love for winter does not pass when the temperatures rise; in fact, I have already started preparing for next winter.

Overhead shot of a piece of crochet laid flat on a wood surface. The crochet is in a dark green yarn, and has raised criss-cross patterns on it. Next to the crochet is the crochet hook used, the yarn ball being used, and two of the other yarn balls being used for the project.

This piece of crochet will (eventually) be my first crochet blanket! The pattern is the Irish Shores blanket by The Guy With The Hook, and I’m using a cotton yarn.

Similar overhead shot of the dark green piece of crochet on a wood surface. The hook is in the work, and the active ball of yarn is nearby. Next to the crochet is a 30cm ruler for scale, which the crochet is a bit longer than on both ends.

This is the first strip of seven I need to make, and it’ll be about 1.5m long when I’m done. At least it works up quickly!

I’ve also been sewing up some quick fabric wraps for Christmas gifts this year.

A stack of Christmassy fabric is photographed from above on a wood surface. At the very top of the pile is a red pin tin and a pair of embroidery scissors.

Above, the hems are all pinned, and below, they’re done!

Four stacks of Christmassy fabric are photographed on a wood surface. Each stack is a different print, and each has one or two larger pieces, and two smaller pieces. Left to right the prints are: holly leaves on black, currawong birds with pink baubles and candy canes on mustard yellow, honeyeaters on branches with red berries on grey, and classic baubles with snowflakes on green.

Each fabric made two small (40x40cm) wraps, as well as at least one medium sized (60x60cm) wrap. I managed to get two medium wraps out of the mustard yellow fabric.

Two gifts wrapped in two of the Christmassy fabrics are photographed from above on a wood surface. The top one is wrapped in the bauble print, and the bottom one is wrapped in the yellow currawong print.

Between these and the large ones I made last year, we should be set! Though this did leave me with lots of scraps, which I’ll need to find a use for. Maybe a project for next year!

Anyways, see ya!
