Binder Dividers

So I have this binder that I use for storing about half to two-thirds of my sewing patterns.

A yellow binder is laid on a white surface. The author's hand holds it at an angle, so the (equally yellow) spine can be seen.

I’ve put some dividers in, just made of cereal box cardboard, to divide the patterns into three sections for easier locating.

Plain cardboard is a bit bland, though. And you get advertising on the back. So I sketched some labels for the sections….

Two rectangular slips of paper are on a cardboard background. The one on top says "Other", the one beneath says "Stuff". The words are both sketched in an art-nouveau style font, with little leaves as accents. Guidelines and such are still visible.

The completed 'Garments' section divider in the binder. The cardboard is covered in brown paper, and there is an in-built tab at the top right. The label says "Garments" in a brown art-nouveau font with little green leaves as accents. At two corners of the label, and the centre bottom of the divider, are little stickers of galah birds.

Now they look much better!

The completed section divider for "Accessories", in the binder. It looks very similar to the first divider - brown paper, label in the same font, tab near the bottom right this time. There are three stickers in the same places as before, this time of rock dove pigeons.

The tabs on the side also help with navigation. I decided to put a heap of space between them in case I wanted to subdivide the Garments section further in the future.

The third section divider in the binder, this time for "Other Stuff". Again, it is very similar to the first two. The tab is at the bottom right, and there are four stickers. Two are at the corners of the label, one at the centre bottom, and one in the top left corner. These stickers are of little bird-chick-like moss creatures, with leaf tails.

It was also a good opportunity to use some of these stickers I had purchased from a convention a few years ago- they’re so cute, and now I get to see them whenever I open this binder. Maybe I’ll end up adding more stickers in the future…..
