Coffee Machine Update

So, the improved coffee machine doesn’t look like much from this side….

Petra stands behind the counter at Tea at Yaz's, working the coffee machine. She's wearing a pink and purple knitted jumper. The coffee machine is visible from the back, which has two rows of gold embellishment on.

….but it does from the other side!

Close-up of the front of the coffee machine. There are three sets of buttons along the top, and two knobs - one at each end. On the right is a wire steam wand. Under each set of buttons is a portafilter attachment. The machine is black, while the new parts are silver, white, and black in various combinations.

I worked off an image of a real-life, working coffee machine to get the details right. There are a few libreties taken, but I’m so much happier with this version.

Closeup of one of the knobs, which is black and silver striped. Also visible is the handle of the closest portafilter, and the buttons above it. And the old drip tray, underneath.

This is the milk frother steam wand – I wasn’t too worried about this being detailed, because this side of the machine is against the wall anyway.

Closeup of the other end of the coffee machine, where a wire has been bent into shape and glued to the side of the machine for the steam wand. Another knob is visible, too.

I’m especially happy with the knobs and the coffee grinder thingys portafilters – they are rolled paper with beads stuck on the bottom.

Closeup from underneath the machine, so the details of the silver portafilters are visible. The black handles are attached to the smaller part, with a larger part above for the head it latches into. Two beads, painted silver, are glued onto the underside of the portafilters to look like the drip spouts.

The portafilters look like they pop out, like real ones. And the handles are nice and chunky.

Petra stands behind the counter of Tea at Yaz's, operating the coffee machine. The image looks over her shoulder, so the mug underneath the portafilter is visible. On top of the machine are four boxes of Tea at Yaz's tea.

I imagine the coffee grinding part is under the bench, because there is not a lot of visual space for anything above the coffee machine. This is also why the bookshelf is tucked between two booths that sit against another, not-visible-at-this-angle wall in Tea at Yaz’s.

And with that, I think Tea at Yaz’s renovation is done! (For now, at least.) Should Petra and I do a walk-through tour?

Anyways, see ya!
