Project Roundup

I believe this is the first Project Roundup of this year, according to my records! These are always fun to write, even if they get fewer views.

First off, I’ve cut out another dress! It’s a Daisy dress by Rosery Apparel, and I’m not poaching the sleeves off another garment this time – I’ll be using this pattern’s sleeves with this pattern’s bodice.

A flatlay of an assortment of sewing-related objects, on a wood background. Such objects include the front bodice of a dress, a dish with pins, scissors, and suchlike in, an instruction booklet, a project planning sheet, and the corner of a pattern pouch. The fabric is purple with red, pink, blue, and white flowers all over.

In miniatures, I’ve been trying to get the yellow edge on these snake plant leaves for a week now.

A good 30-odd miniatire paper leaves rest on a piece of scrap paper, curled with the application of paint. They are reminiscent of snake plant leaves, being pointy with dark horizontal stripes and lighter green edges.

My solution is to quit trying to mix ‘lime green’, and just paint them yellow. The white base will help the yellow to show up against the dark green.

Another shot of the snake plant leaves on scrap paper, this time with white edges.

Remind me in the future to use fewer leaves if I’m doing a similar experiment – these are all for one plant!

The author's crochet hook roll sits partially unrolled beside three small skeins of grey acrylic yarn, all on a wood surface.

And finally, this grey yarn will become chair feet, to stop the horrid screeching noise that comes from dragging a chair across any surface.

What are you all up to? Do let me know, it’s always fun to hear!

Anyways, see ya!

Yves
