Project Roundup

Way back in the autumn holidays, I started this embroidery hoop:

Close-up of an embroidery hoop. The embroidery inside fills the top half of the hoop; it is of a partly cloudy sunset, behind some tall thin trees. The bottom half of the hoop has the blue outline of the design, but no stitching yet.

The bottom half will be a field of sunflowers, but I haven’t picked it up since those holidays. Hopefully I’ll find time soon to do some.

Petra holds a rectangular panel of cardboard in front of her face, and is peeping through the cutouts carved into it. The cutouts are curved designs with a couple of spirals and leaf shapes filling in the gaps.

What’s this now?

Petra has lowered the cardboard panel, so now you can see her face smiling at the camera. The cutouts now show her blue, red, and white jumper through them.

This panel – and seven others – are going to be the legs of the little table I’m making for Tea at Yaz’s courtyard.

Overhead shot of the parts of a miniature table, laid out on a green cutting mat. There are eight rectangles like the one Petra had, two of which haven't had the designs cut out yet. To their left, there is an octagonal piece of cardboard under an octagonal piece of paper. The paper has a rough, symmetrical design on it.

The table top is to the left of the photo, with the rough design I’ve got for the surface. I’m going to paint the tabletop, but I thought this technique would look like carved wood for the legs.

Flatlay of a newly cut pair of pants, on a wood background. To the left is one leg cut out of black mottled fabric, and one pattern piece for the other leg. Beside them are an open needle book, a spool of black thread, a project planning template, and a red pin tin.

I also cut out a pair of pyjama pants this morning. These won’t be posted, but I’ve needed new pyjamas for a while, and if I can make them, I will!

Anyways, see ya!
