Courtyard Tables

It only took a month, but the table for Tea at Yaz’s courtyard is finished! Which means Tea at Yaz’s courtyard makeover is also complete! (The basics, anyway. I can add plants/a water feature in the future.)

Wide shot of a corner of Tea at Yaz's courtyard dining area. In this corner are multiple potted plants, a couple of hanging baskets, and a table with thtee brown poufs around it. The table is octagonal, has carved wooden legs, and a brightly patterned surface. It's roughly the same height as the poufs.

The surface is hand-painted; I definitely could have added more details to this, but my patience was wearing very thin.

Close-up of the surface of the table. The design raidates from the central orange circle with yellow petals surrounding it. This is bordered with a wavy red line, roughly in a square shape. Four arch shapes in shades of blue extend from the red square, with pale yellow flowers and green and white petals inside. Around the outside are blue semi-circles with more pale yellow flowers in. The background is yellow, and all the shapes are thinly outlined in purple.

And a close-up of the legs. The whole table is heavily inspired by similar ones found in Moroccan riads, and the designs for the legs and the surface are loosely based on some I found on said tables.

Close-up of the legs of the table. The relief carved into the legs is a leafy, spirally, organic design, that is symmetrical. Each of the eight legs has the same design, and they are all painted to look like wood.

This is stunning… I don’t want to put food on it! It’s too beautiful!

Petra sits at the table in Tea at Yaz's courtyard. She has one hand on her knee and one gently running over the surface of the table. She's looking down at the table, wearing a multi-coloured knit jumper and brown pants.

But, of course, one must.

Petra, Tiffany, and Sarah sit around the table in Tea at Yaz's courtyard. They all have mugs with hot drinks in their hands, and they look to Sarah as she says something. There is a small gold lantern in the centre of the table, unlit.

Hot drinks with friends is a great way to christen the table!

I’m really happy with this table, especially the details in the designs. Would I do it again? I think a similar surface paint job would look good on the interior tables, if I can find that patience again.

Anyways, see ya!
