Summer Remnant Sewing

I don’t usually purchase fabric impulsively, but this shirt came about from impulsively purchased fabric.

The author stands outside with a hedge as her background. She's photographed from neck to thighs, and wears a leafy shirt tucked into grey linen pants. Her hands are in her pant pockets.

It was a remnant of cotton I came across late last year when fabric shopping and I just had to bring it home.

Close-up of the shirt. The pattern is a variety of different shaped leaves, in various shades of green, on a white background. The centre front is sewn shut most of the way up to the V-neckline, and the sleeves are short.

I thought there would be enough to make one of my Eadaz shirts, and there was, just! I had to put a seam at the centre back to make all the pattern pieces fit.

The author stands in front of the hedge, with her back to the camera. She's photographed from neck to hips, so the back of the leafy shirt is in view. It is tucked into grey pants.

The lovely leafy pattern is so busy you can barely see it from the outside.

Close-up of the neckline of the leafy shirt, taken from above on a wood surface. The centre back seam allowances are visible, where a rectangle of matching fabric with a hanging loop has been sewn over top.

The author stands outside with a hedge as her background. She's photographed from neck to thighs, standing at a slight angle with her hands on her hips. She's wearing the leafy shirt tucked into grey pants.

As a shirt, the print reminds me a little of a Hawaiian shirt! I still like it, and I’ll wear it, but definitely not without plenty of sunscreen.

Anyways, see ya!
