Baby Jellyfish

Do you ever want to test your pattern-adapting skills and want it to be a quick and easy project?

A small crocheted jellyfish stuffed toy is photographed from above on a wood surface. It is mostly blue, and is surrounded by the four balls of yarn used to make it. (They are blue, sea green, navy, and purple.)

Well, that’s how this little jellyfish came about.

The small crochet jellyfish is photographed next to a larger, paler blue counterpart. Both jellyfish have similar tentacles, embroidered eyes, and frills at the base of their body. The smaller jellyfish is about half the size of the larger one.

I used the same Galaxy Jellyfish pattern by Sweet Softies that I used to make my first jellyfish (which I talk about here!).

The small jellyfish is photographed leaning against a stack of the four yarns used to make it.

I modified this jellyfish by stopping increasing about halfway through the increases, matching the size of the base to the smaller top, shortening the tentacles a bit, and only attaching four tentacles.

The underside of the smaller jellyfish. Four curly tentacles of different colours have been attached to the base of the body, roughly equidistant.

The small jellyfish sits in the author's hand, against a wood background. Its body is small enough to fit in the author's palm.

I think the embroidered eyes look better than the first one! Though they probably should be a bit closer together, on account of the smaller body. Also, like the first jellyfish, name suggestions are welcomed!

Anyways, see ya!
