Water Bottle Holder

After a few months pursuing this new career path, I have concluded that having a water bottle with a handle of some kind is very handy. My water bottle doesn’t need replacing (yay underconsumption), so the obvious solution is to make something.

The instructions came from this book I own, called Bags for Life by Stuart Hilliard. It’s very good – there’s lots of different bags in there, for a variety of situations.

The book includes measurements for the pattern, because it’s mostly rectangles; because of that, it’s easy to adjust the pattern to your water bottle.

All these fabrics were scraps from my stash, but I did have to purchase the D-rings and webbing. It is insulated with a layer of cotton fleece, but I’m unsure how effective that will be.

I do often have the strap wrapped and tucked around itself, to keep it out of the way. I also usually leave my water bottle under a shaded tree near where I’m working. Choosing turquoise fabric was a good choice, because it really stands out against foliage.
