Crochet Occamy Pattern Part 2

The second half is here! This half of the pattern is going to cover making the wings, as well as finishing your new friend.

Part 1 is here, and covers Materials, Abbreviations and the body/head of the Occamy. As before, please don’t sell this pattern or make things to sell from it, it’s just for fun. Thank you!

Method continued
Wings
Using 2mm hook, ch 10 in lightest purple, then *ch 6 in next lightest purple.

Sl st into 2nd ch from hook, and into next 4ch. Sl st into closest ch of foundation 10.

Repeat from * once more, then continue down foundation ch, decreasing the number of chs out in following pattern:

Change colours as you go down the wing, putting the darkest colour at the base of the wing. After the last sl st, fasten off and sew the sl st strips together. Weave in ends and repeat for the other wing.

Sew them onto the Occamy approximately 7cm from the base of the head. Weave in ends after sewing to body, as well as any ends you may have forgotten, and you’re done!

A word of advice: If this is the first time you’re making this pattern, you may want to do a practice piece before making the final wings, especially if the wings are very small.

And your Occamy is complete! Sit him/her on a bookshelf or in a nest and admire your handiwork!

I’d love to see your creations, and if you have questions about the pattern, let me know!

Anyways, see ya!

  1. That’s a clever way to make the wings – I never would have figured that one out. I just need to find time to make an Occamy for my bookshelf, well done with the pattern and tutorial! (And thank you so much for sharing!) ^__^

  2. I’ve made myself an occamy nest teapot cosy. Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern. A little bit challenging due to the small hook ~ but perfect for my project. I love her…. Complete with insect and egg shell💖
