The process of the idea from thought to sketch to real life went very quickly for this badge, which is rather uncommon!
It’s from the Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan, and is the logo for Hotel Valhalla, Valhalla being where Odin’s chosen warriors live after their deaths in Norse mythology.
The ‘hotel’ part is not from normal Norse mythology – that part is only in Riordan’s novels.
I used a whipped back stitch for the design, as I’d read that it makes lettering look better than plain back stitch, which it does.
It’s a very simple design, and very effective, I believe.
