As it’s not only the first day of spring here, but also September 1st (when the Hogwarts school year starts), I made new windows for Flourish & Blotts.
The flowers at the bottom have a watercolour background with the details drawn on top.
I quite like the effect of this, with the murky background contrasted by the relative detail of the foreground. I may add more flowers along the bottom next year, there are a few empty gaps, methinks!
A bit of detail on the flowers – I wasn’t really going for any specific sort of flower, just a variety of different types and colours.
Perhaps I should make some little textbooks to put on the windows, or in the shop. Though maybe, the Potter books are the textbooks… who knows? (Also, wouldn’t that be amazing? *wistful sigh*)
Anyways, see ya!

The new window displays look excellent! Ah, I wish we were going into spring in the US…it’s my favorite season. ❤ As for the textbooks…maybe the Harry Potter books could be the textbooks! My former homeschool co-op had a "Hogwarts Academy" class that was basically an English class except the class read all 7 HP books. I wish I could've taken it, it sounds like so much fun. There's certainly enough symbolism and metaphor that they could make quite nice textbooks indeed… But I'm off track now. 😛 Please wish Sarah good luck on her back-to-Hogwarts from me! 🙂

Thank you! I would for certain ace that class, it sounds like the dream school experience! Just recently, actually, I wrote about Tony Stark’s Arc Reactor for a science assignment, and it was the most fun I’ve had on an assessment in a very long time. Sarah passes on her thanks for your well wishes! 😊
