Re-Made Jumper

In order to re-knit a jumper, sometimes you’ve got to completely unravel two of the sides (the front and back are the bundles of yarn just under this text).

The pink jumper is in pieces on a white brick background. One of the sleeves is being re-knitted, and the front and back panels are two small skeins at the top of the image.

Then you’ve got to sew it together….

The pink jumper is shown mid-assembly on a white brick background. The four panels are sewn together, but the arm and side seams are not sewn yet. A needle and a pair of embroidery scissors are also visible.

….and you’re good to go!

Petra wears the pink jumper, which now fits better at the neck, has longer sleeves, and a slimmer body. She looks at the camera.

I’m very happy with the neckline, because I usually cast off really tightly. This time I thought ‘loose’ thoughts while casting off and it worked!

Petra wears the pink jumper under her green dungarees, one hand in her pocket. She's outside, against a pale blue textured wall, looking at the camera.

Petra informs me this is now her favourite jumper.

Petra wears the pink jumper, green dungarees, and black shoes against an outdoor textured wall. She has one foot up on the wall, and her hands in front of her. She looks to the right.

The next mini-project after Tea at Yaz’s will be to expand Petra’s wardrobe a little – I have a pair of pants that needs a new waistband, then perhaps more jumpers are in the picture.

Anyways, see ya!

  1. Oh, it seems to fit so much better now! I giggled at your description of how you got the cast-off to be looser. That’s what I have to do when making the starting chain in crochet, too. I can’t believe how tiny those knit stitches are!
