Gathered Shirt

Hmmm, I think this shirt needs something more….

Petra wears an un-hemmed t-shirt in a cream fabric, printed with leafy designs in pale pink. She looks down at the shirt dubiously, arms by her sides.

That’s better!

Petra wears a cream t-shirt with a gathered, peplum sort of hem. The gathers are at the waist, and the shirt has leafy designs printed on in pale pink. Her hands are on her hips and she smiles at the camera.

For my first time sewing gathers, I think it looks pretty good!

Petra stands outside, in front of a rock-bordered garden bed filled with a purple-leafed plant. She looks to the bottom-left, and has one hand on her shoulder. She wears the gathered cream t-shirt and pink corduroy shorts.

It’s something a bit different, anyways, and it would definitely hide any messy waistbands!

Petra stands outside, in front of a rock-bordered garden bed filled with a purple-leafed plant. She looks to the right, with one hand in her pocket. She wears the cream gathered t-shirt and pink corduroy shorts.

And then we found these flowers!

Petra stands outside against a pink flowering plant with long, thin leaves. She looks up at a cluster of pink flowers, hands clasped in front of her. She wears the cream gathered t-shirt.
Petra poses next to a lower cluster of pink flowers, one hand on a leaf. The flowers are long, upright, tube-shaped buds, not yet opened. She smiles at the camera, wearing the cream gathered t-shirt.

I think they look very rainforest-y, and of course, Petra loves them. As for gathers, I definitely want to try them again! I think this sort of shirt could look good at a tunic-sort of length… Or maybe I could put an elastic channel in the waist….

Anyways, see ya!
