Cosplay Update

Sarah’s Thirteenth Doctor cosplay has had an upgrade – this is what it looked like four years ago (!):

Sarah stands in the Thirteenth Doctor's TARDIS, leaning against the console with hands in pockets. She is smiling at the camera, and has one leg propped up against one of the console's feet. Her pants are a pale blue colour, and her shoes are pleather; otherwise, it's a pretty accurate cosplay.

And this is what it looks like today:

Sarah stands in front of a mess of plants, wearing her Thirteenth Doctor outfit. She's got her feet planted shoulder-width apart, and is looking towards the top-right of frame. Her pants are a deeper turquoise shade, and her shoes are now fabric. Otherwise, pretty accurate cosplay.

The shoes I made a while ago, but this post’s focus is the pants! I made them from scraps of the fabric I used for my life-sized pair.

Sarah smiles at the camera, wearing Thirteenth Doctor cosplay. She's got one hand in her pant pocket, sweeping the coat back to make them more visible. She also has a red shirt with multi-coloured stripes across the chest, yellow suspenders, and a grey coat with a hood.

The colour is much more accurate than the original ones as a result. I also made sure to do straight pocket edges, because I curved the original pair’s pocket edges. I do think I like the cuffs on the original pair better, but oh well.

Close-up of one of the pockets from behind Sarah. The edge of the lining of the pocket is visible, and it is pale purple.

I kept the pale purple pocket linings, because I think it’s such a cute detail.

Sarah walks past Tea at Yaz's with Chip rolling alongside her. They both have their heads angled toward each other. Sarah wears the turquoise pants with a purple polka-dot shirt and red shoes, and has her satchel over one shoulder.

And, of course, they work for ordinary, civillian tasks as well, like errand runs. I love how bright these pants are; my pair have faded a bit over the years, so they aren’t anywhere near as vivid. Maybe one day, I’ll try over-dyeing them…..

Anyways, see ya!
