My Life in Miniature

I’ve been starting a new embroidery hoop recently, based on one of the stories from The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo.

I don’t have the patience to embroider those big sections of wave entirely, so I’m using pieces of felt to block in a base colour…

…then stitching on heaps of lines to convey the movement of the water.

I’m loving seeing those lines gradually fill out the felt and make them wavy, it’s so satisfying. I’ll draw in the corals and such on the left once these waves and the letters are finished.
