Three Years Later

Finally….

A purple square of fabric sits on a white brick background. A pink rose is embroidered in the centre.

….after what feels like three years….

A square of purple fabric sits on a white brick background. Above the pink rose in the centre is embroidered the outline of two red dragon wings.

….I have a Carry On badge! This book has been a favourite for a long time now, and I hit roadblocks multiple times while designing it, but now! All that has come to fruition! Huzzah!

The finished circular badge sits on a white brick background. A pink rose is embroidered in the centre, below which are two vampire teeth. Above is a pair of red dragon wings.

I tried a new-ish stitch for the rose in the centre, which I think looks really good.

Close-up shot of the badge from an angle to show the elevation/texture of the stitches. It sits on a white brick background.

My satin-stitching could be a bit neater, but that might be affected by the weave of the fabric.

'Carry On' and 'Wayward Son' by Rainbow Rowell sit stacked on each other, spines facing the camera. The badge leans up against the spine of 'Carry On'.
The badge is pinned onto a denim bag, alongside a variety of other badges and pins - both handmade and purchased.

I decided to put it straight onto my bag instead of the usual bookshelf position because my Carry On books are in a corner, and it’d be hard to see the badge. And that would be an injustice after spending three years (ish) on it!

Social/physical distancing has multiple unforeseen benefits….

Anyways, see ya!
