Waistcoat the Second

I wore my grey waistcoat pretty much all of last winter, so this summer I wanted to make myself another one.

I made this one a size smaller, because the original grey one was a little bit roomy around the chest.

The author sits at an antique wooden-topped desk, with a wooden cabinet behind her. She wears a black waistcoat patterned with grey swirls over a pale pink long-sleeves shirt with turquoise pants. She holds a hardback book open as she reaches for one of the pens in the pen jar.

I really like the fabric I found for this one – it’s visually interesting, but also neutral colours, so it will work with any of my shirts.

She is turned sideways in the upholstered wooden chair she sits in, with another book open on her lap.

Both the body and the pockets are lined in plain black fabric.

Close-up of the bottom half of the black and grey waistcoat. The bottom three buttons are visible, as well as both of the pockets. There is also a brass watch chain looped around one of the buttons that disappears into one of the pockets.

I can’t wait for the cooler weather to come so I can put this to use! I won’t retire my plain grey one just yet, but it won’t have to work quite as hard this winter. I already have an idea for a third waistcoat, but we’ll see.

Anyways, see ya!
