My Life in Miniature

I need a break from Large Projects after those work pants, hoooooh boy. A small cross-stitching project should do the trick – I started this one not long ago, and as I type this, it’s nearly ready to come off the hoop.

I have also cast on (a gauge swatch of) another knitted scarf, this time a lightweight lace knit one.

This has been a helpful exercise not only in gauge, but also in practising the lace pattern.

I’m using cotton yarn from my stash in this nice neutral colour, so hopefully I can wear it on mornings it’s just a little bit nippy. I do find this takes a fair bit of concentration – partly because of the lace pattern, and partly because my hands are not used to knitting. We shall see how this goes…. (And if any knitters out there have tips, I am all ears!)
