Mending in Miniature

This week was spent mending some dolls’ clothes, to try and keep the mending pile on the small side. The patients were these two pieces:

Two pieces of doll clothing are laid flat on a white brick background. On the left is a pair of orangey-brown pants, and on the right is a denim pinafore dress.

Petra’s brown pants were too tight at the waist, so you couldn’t velcro them closed.

I added a placket in the same fabric, and moved the velcro onto said placket, so now they close!

Petra’s very happy they’re back in her wardrobe.

Next patient was this denim pinafore that Petra gave to Tiffany. Clearly, the entire top half is too big, but the skirt fits okay.

And the finished pinafore! There was an extension to the back straps that I removed, and I made the front panel smaller.

I did have to sacrifice the pocket on the front panel, unfortunately, but she’s still got the two pockets in the skirt.

The pinafore would be a cute winter outfit, though you’d probably need leggings to keep your legs warm, Tiff!

Anyways, see ya!
