I got two more Tea at Yaz’s details made, starting with a pair of aprons for waitstaff! Both aprons have a working pocket and an adjustable neck strap, which I’m very happy with. That pocket is a great place to pop some table menus if your hands are full! The text describes actual meals served,…… Continue reading What’ll It Be?

Barista Coffee
One thing I knew I wanted to upgrade in renovating Tea at Yaz’s was the coffee machine: the old one was more of an urn, whereas this is more the sort in a coffee shop. As you can see, there’s space for three cups; I also added the grille under the cups and a small…… Continue reading Barista Coffee
Tea Boxes
Tea at Yaz’s now has its own line of tea! I made the designs for these little boxes myself, which was a long process of trial and error. There are 10 different boxes: hibiscus, rooibos, chamomile, peppermint, strawberry, earl grey, black, ginger, lavender and hot chocolate. On the back, there is a teeny tiny nutrition…… Continue reading Tea Boxes
Curries
Tea at Yaz’s has another addition to the menu – curries! I also made some spice jars for the Tea at Yaz’s pantry too; left to right there is curry powder, chilli powder, and cinnamon. On the left is yellow beef curry, and on the right is butter chicken. I’m very pleased with how the…… Continue reading Curries
Meet Petra
The new doll I mentioned in the last post is complete – meet Petra Zapalla! She likes plants and gardening, as well as travelling to new places, especially if they have cool gardens or forests to wander in. Her collection of jumpers is rivalled only by Sarah’s collection of T-shirts. She lives above Tea at…… Continue reading Meet Petra
Parting the Curtains
The interior of Tea at Yaz’s is coming along slowly! I’ve made a few fabric pieces, like this curtain/divider for the doorway between the front counter and the kitchens and such. I also made some on-a-curtain-rail curtains around the front window. I’m very happy with these! I kinda want to put some in Sarah’s apartment…… Continue reading Parting the Curtains
Upcycling
I’ve finished upcycling the old Three Broomsticks furniture for Tea at Yaz’s! The counter has the same pattern as the walls, the glass case has a back and a frame, and it also folds flat-ish! Much easier to store now. This took a while to work out how to do. The booths also got a…… Continue reading Upcycling
Wall Stencils
The Tea at Yaz’s interior is coming along; the main achievement being that we have finished walls. I wanted a pattern on the walls, so I found this stencil that looks a little like Moroccan tiles and stencilled it over the whole interior. This was the first finished wall…. ….still stencilling…. ….and all done! I…… Continue reading Wall Stencils
Project Roundup
As I have limited space to store my miniature sets, I plan to re-make the Diagon Alley shops so they can store their own furniture inside. In the process, they’ll be getting a makeover, and first in line is the old Three Broomsticks. As you can see, its new owners have renamed it to Tea…… Continue reading Project Roundup
